Anyone else have the February blues?

It’s been a weird February to say the least. I’m not on here to complain but like my buddy Scotty says, people should keep it real!

It’s been a long month for me and I’m not just talking about the leap year thing. Dalton helped with Family Day but it just wasn’t enough.

Nothing major went wrong but it seems I’m not firing on all cylinders. I can’t seem to put my finger on it but I know/feel something is off. Is it because I’m getting more aware in my old age or is it because a bit of a princess?

Regardless, if I apply my 6-month rule (will this really matter in 6 months from now?) most of these incidents are just irritants in the grand scheme of things. But sometimes after a long day or a long week, it adds up. I just need some perspective, or maybe a beach.

And talking to some family and friends, I’m not the only one. The fact that it’s dark when you get up and when you get home from work doesn’t help either. I’m usually full of energy and I appreciate winter but wouldn’t it be nice to cycle with shorts on? Run with no shirt on?

This coming weekend should help. I’ll be hanging out with old buddies and sometimes a bit of tough love helps tremendously. And guess what, it will be March!

So try to warm up an unfriendly soul with a hug or a smile. It could really help that person.

We had a great development session for experienced ChiRunners yesterday at the Louis Riel Dome. We had a solid group and some great  drills and the folks came up with some pertinent questions. Let’s hope this helps a few more become effortless runners.

By the early counts, we also raised $150 for SchoolBOX so it was a win-win-win!
