Valentine’s Day Run Anyone?

After running in -27 weather with my buddy B’s Knees this morning and enjoying every minute of it, it got me thinking that more people should get out and try it. If you dress properly, you’ll be surprised how easy it is to get hooked on winter running!

I’m proposing a Valentine’s Day run for the lucky people like me that are single and don’t have plans that night. We’ll even be nice and include people with significant others! So if you’re free and want to feel alive, come out next Monday and we’ll go for a nice run.

I propose a 6.30pm start at the top of the stairs beside the US Embassy (and across the street from Major’s Hill Park). Is everyone good with that? Does anyone have a good route they would like to propose?

All levels are welcome, we might even do break into small packs so everyone can run at a comfortable pace.

Come one, come all! RSVP (so we know who to wait for!) by commenting below or dropping me an email ([email protected]).

I also have my first wine reco of the year. As you folks might know, I’m a big red guy. A friend of mine suggested this wine and I couldn’t agree more (thank you Lucie!).

The wine in question is a 2008 J. Lohr Estates Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon. It is the only wine that I can remember where the first two words that came to mind are bold AND sweet! If you let it breathe a bit, it’s quite glorious. From what I can tell, it can be paired with some marinated meats or just be drunk by itself.

It goes for just over $20 per bottle and it’s worth every penny if you ask me! It’s available at most LCBO stores in Ontario in the Vintages section.
