Shutting down: My @TankActionSpa Float Experience

I have and I read up a lot on the benefits of Epsom salts so with an incredible deal I found online I decided to take the plunge (pun intended).
I love being a guinea pig. You probably know this by now. Getting into adventures means you will have some new sensations. Some are good, some are bad but all are sensations and that’s a good thing in my books.
After signing my life away and getting some explanations, it was time to go to the washroom and hit the showers. Getting into your own personal “pod” at Tank Action Spa is a bit different but I didn’t really feel that claustrophobic to be honest. Even as an overgrown man-child the space was big enough for me.
It takes a little getting used to I won’t lie, especially for someone with an hyper-active hamster such as myself. You see nothing, you hear nothing. Just you and your mind floating. It’s called sensory deprivation therapy. The salts help the body as well so you really get to build that mind-body connection I love so much.
Like my last MRI, it took a few yoga breaths to calm down for the first minutes but when you realize you’re just floating there in peace, it gets better. The first 15 minutes include a lot of WTH moments but then the last 45 minutes go by way too fast.
A quick note, I made the mistake of touching my eyes after I took out my earplugs out, since they were noisy and annoying. Do not do this as it stings like a mofo and makes you cry like a school girl at the Justin Bieber concert circa 2010.
All in all, it’s almost 2 hours with driving down, changing and showering before and after. But it seems to slow down your day and your life tremendously. I felt zen for the majority of the day after.
It was a little weird at first and I didn’t really fall asleep but I enjoyed it. In fact, I already booked my next one for the coming weekend!
