Running the yoga way, upcoming workshop for runners and yogis alike…

I’m excited to teach a new kind of session, incorporating two of my favourite activities: running and yoga. It’s something that’s been in the back of my mind for some time but I will actually be delivering this for the first time ever.

The workshop is basically a 2-hour look on how yoga and running can be aligned along the same principles. We’ll also show you how to increase enjoyment and speed while decreasing injuries along the way.

I’m doing this one with Laurel Schut, a runner and a yoga teacher at Upward Dog Yoga Centre.

The workshop will start off with a short (4-6k) all-levels run around the downtown core. We will come back to the studio for a chat and introduce the principles of ChiRunning, before you experience a relaxing yoga class led by Laurel. It’s a perfect session for runners looking to get started in yoga and vice versa!

See below for the details:

Tuesday, July 30th
7 to 9pm
Upward Dog Yoga Centre (251 Dalhousie Street)
$40+hst

To register, you can do so directly from Upward Dog’s site or by calling 613-241-9642.

This all came about from a friend talking to a friend and putting Laurel and I in touch. People helping people, I love it!

Let me know if you have any questions or if you plan on attending. I would love to see you out!

If you’re a woman and you’ve taken my workshop, I’ve probably told you about the evils of high heels. Well here is a great look at effect of them on your feet and legs from the Washington Post.

I’m not saying they don’t look good, I’m just saying you should minimize your time in them!
