How fast do you run?

I get that question from time to time. I still chuckle when someone asks and the good thing is that I don’t really look fast.

I’ve even been asked if I’m gonna win the race I’m about to enter. Those comments usually get a big belly laugh.

I know I’m never going to win a race and I’m okay with that. Nowadays I race a lot less than what I used to and most of the time it’s really to enjoy the day or to help out a client or friend.

I still love to push myself from time to time and see if I can get faster in my old age. But enjoyment has taken over speed as my biggest priority now.

Regardless of your goals, if you want to see what it would take to win a top marathon, check out the clip below:

Ryan Hall, for those who don’t know, is a decently fast runner.  He holds the U.S. record in the half marathon (59:43) and he ran a sub-2:05:00 at the 2011 Boston Marathon.

And if you’re like me, technology has a big I didn’t really understand how much of a hold it had on me until I recently heard Dr. Sam Ladner speak at a recent edition of Social Media Breakfast Ottawa. Dr. Ladner pointed out how technology has really creeped into our daily lives and she presents some data and cool stuff on her site at mobileworklife.ca.
