Announcing the next #hftott, a special wine-themed TweetUp

Before I start about the good stuff, I should mention the tragedy that occurred yesterday in Boston. My thoughts are with those affected. Such a sad way to end a great day for most. To be honest, I think events like that make these fun events even more needed as we all know life is short.

You asked for it and here it is, a special wine-themed TweetUp with guest speaker sommelier Rob Beardall.

Rob will speak about the health benefits of wine before taking us through a wine tasting. On the menu is fun and yummy food.

Three wine pairings (2oz pours with bites to go with them) including:

  • Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc with goat’s cheese crostini
  • Chianti with homemade veal meatball in tomato sauce
  • Ripasso with aged cheddar

Our guest speaker is Rob Beardall, a sommelier and the single largest private wine distributor in Ottawa. He tastes and sells wine to all the great restaurants. You can say he’s passionate about wines and on top of that, he’s entertaining, knowledgeable and hilarious.

Here are all the details:

Tuesday, April 30
6:30-8pm
Guest Room @ Fresco Bistro Italiano
354 Elgin St

I’m trying to do some good as well with these events. Not only will you meet some health-focused and like-minded folks in a casual and fun environment, proceeds will go to a local charity. The recipient charity will be picked by the attendees as votes will be tabulated. And as always, there will be some surprises and prizes.

This will probably the best $30 you’ve spent in a while.

P.S. A TweetUp is an actual meeting of Twitter folks. Kind of like a networking event but so much better!

There are still a few spots for this weekend’s Intro to ChiRunning in Ottawa. They do say that spring is the best time to work on your form and I do agree!
