Where is the love? #MotivationMonday

I hope you’re enjoying the long weekend, or just an awesome Monday regardless. It was nice for me to recharge the batteries and slow down this elongated weekend.

I also had the time to listen to an awesome podcast on Bulletproof Radio. This was about hacking fear. It featured Ravé Mehta, who is a bit of a renaissance man, doing a bit of everything in this world. He is an engineer, an entrepreneur, a professor, an award-winning composer, a pianist and a bestselling author. Yeah!

What I really like about this podcast is that it talked about two opposites on the same spectrum; Fear and trust. He makes a point that you’re either channeling one or the other at any point.

He also equates trust with love, especially in the flow state. He talks about it being very hard to be negative when you’re doing something you love. And it made me think of this anthem from Black Eyed Peas so I added it. Why not spread a bit of love on a Monday?

I’m not sure I’m doing his amazing stuff justice so best to just listen to him explain it. It’s only about 20 minutes or so, and it hit me hard.

This easily translates to fitness and running. What motivates you to get out the door? Are you scared to not be able to finish or to suck at your next race? Or are you looking for to feed your brain and exercise the body? Trust me, I’ve done both and I think the latter might be a tad healthier in the grand scheme of things.

Anyway, it’s a concept that I think it will pick up steam as it builds. He has a book coming out soon it seems. With more and more people looking at ways to get us out of a fear mindset and into a love/trust mindset, I think we’re going to be in a better place.

What do you think?

P.S. Stay tuned, I have something cool happening for next month. It will include a few of my loves but I can’t spill the beans just yet! :)
