What a crazy world we live in…

I don’t like to go on rants, especially on social media but here it is goes, more like a state of the union address.

Sometimes people suck. It seems that people know when someone has disappointed me and they pile on. Why can’t just people do what they say they will? Is that too much to ask?

The good thing is that every time I get knocked down by life and especially’s people actions, something or someone comes around to restore my faith in humanity. That is why I’ve enjoyed my involvement in the CTV Amazing People Gala. Just a few people getting together and trying to do good. Together we raised close to $150,000 for local worthy causes that make education possible in Kenya and Nicaragua involving local folks. Sometimes we need to take a step back and appreciate all we have done.

We’re exposed to so much now so we see more bad stuff with the interweb and social media. As the old saying about media goes, if it bleeds, it leads!

I’ve been told before that I sometimes take on too much as I like to be productive. And I’m sure I have disappointed people in the past but one of the agreements I try to stick to is to be a man of my word.

We have to remember we have so much to be thankful for and sometimes it gets lost in the minutia of the day-to-day. God knows it’s happened to me recently. But then I think back about all the cool things we can now do and all the good I’m exposed to. We simply to have to switch the lens we look through and brush off the bad stuff. Onwards and upwards!

Let’s take it all in stride and try to be happy. I hope the video above puts a smile on your face. Sometimes we need a reminder of how cool the world can be…

P.S. Maybe I just need to go for a run or go to play hockey to make it all better, right?
