So what to do in 2015?

A new year is upon us and it means a clean slate for everyone. Everyday is like that but it seems New Year’s Resolutions are more popular than new day ones. I digress.

I was hoping to start it off with a race on the first weekend of 2015 but Mother Nature snowed out the snowshoe race for me and the fam. Instead I continued my #31in31 in the neighbourhood. It’s still going well even if I’m one day behind due to hockey and meetings yesterday.

So what will 2015 hold for me? Well I do have two big races already planned:

  • Seaton Trail Race: This one should be a nice early season check-in in early May. It’s a 50k race (with other distances available as well) in the trails east of Toronto. At least I won’t get frostbite during this one!
  • Syracuse 70.3: I’m also planning on doing this Half Ironman in June. It’s close, looks decent and the best of all it was still open for registration during the holidays.

This is the first time in a while I planned my year ahead of time. It used to be a tradition to write out all my races and goals in the winter to get me pumped for the upcoming season but hasn’t happened in a while. Now on my annual NYE run I contemplate life and how I will take over the world to make it a better place!

There are also things like a life to live. To combine business and pleasure, I’m planning workshops in British Columbia and Abu Dhabi for the spring. Like I was once told, if you build it, they will come!

It’s funny how experience and perspective change things. I’m getting the urge to race again but I don;t want to jeopardize all of the great lifestyle I’m accustomed to. Who knew I’d be so wise at such a young age?
