Power of words, part deux…
Posted In: ChiRunning | Me | Weight loss September 2nd, 2011 divider 2 Comments »I had some good response to my last video blog post about the power of words so I thought I would share the feedback with you folks.
Someone sent me an email saying that they know they have to sign up for an upcoming workshop due to my last post. I appreciate it but I don’t know how they got that from a video blog about words… I’ll take it though!
Someone else mentioned that a few encouraging words really helped her getting out the door and re-discover how much fun running can be (and how great you feel afterwards). To me that is gold!
Believe it or not but motivating others is a major reason I got interested in teaching ChiRunning in the first place. It gives me a great platform to promote fitness and physical activity. And I see some examples all around me of some great heroes that, in turn, inspire other folks. People helping people, it’s powerful stuff!
I’ve been getting a lot of feedback in the past few months that people are really inspired by my adventures and my attitude. You don’t know motivating that is! It makes me want to do more for you so keep it coming…
All this feedback has been great but it also brings accountability and responsability. I try to be very careful with words because of it. For example, I’ve now being using “tall & fall” as a cue for the lean portion of ChiRunning instead of “leaning” since I found people were over-leaning. And I’ve seen some improvement. So there!

On the nutrition front, a great article from the Globe and Mail on upping protein in order to cut calories. I’m pretty sure this BodyByVi Challenge does both. Maybe that’s why it’s becoming a bit of a phenomenon…
