After reading the Blood Sugar Solution a few months back, I realized two things: I eat a lot of processed protein bars and it doesn’t have to be this way!
And I’ve been telling people about these bars recently so I got asked to post the recipe. This is as close to a recipe I can get…
I’ve used them for training and day-to-day nutrition. They are not cheap since I use a lot of quality ingredients but I know exactly what’s in them and they’re fun and easy to make. See the pic for last night’s batch.
They are also gluten-free and pretty healthy. And oh so yummy.
Here are the usual ingredients:
- A few cups of large flake oats
- A few table spoons of cocoa powder
- A few healthy dabs of peanut butter
- Some hemp hearts
- Some ground flax seed
- An egg
- A very healthy helping of dark chocolate chips
- A helping of protein powder
- Apple sauce
- A pinch of magic baking powder
Let me know if you try them or if you have any other great yummy and healthy recipes.
