Life is short…

Life is short…

I received some sad news this weekend as one of my high school friends passed away. It’s quite sad since he had a wife and a young family.

To be honest we hadn’t hung out much since high school and we hadn’t seen eachother in a few years but it still hits you. A seemingly healthy thirtysomething passes away? In my hood?

It makes you realize that life is short and we’re all invincible. Not always easy to digest but this is why you must live in the moment as much as possible.

Trust me, I need this advice as much as the next one. I’m even starting my first book of fiction in years. Crazy I know. I’m also trying to sing out loud everyday. Some small steps should lead to more as it usually does.

This is just a gentle reminder to try to knock off some items off your bucket list before too long. There’s never a perfect moment to do anything. Just do it. If you’re like me, you don’t regret what you do, you regret what you didn’t do.

It’s like the old saying about nobody on their deathbed has ever said “I wish I had spent more time at the office”. Hug your family and kiss your wife for no reason.

I also saw this saying in the picture above and I thought it was very fitting. Get away from your PC and go do something fun. And by the way, I’m gonna try to take my own advice even on this hectic week/month!
