I love you Nova Scotia!

I love you Nova Scotia!

I’ve always had a soft spot for the Maritimes, especially after spending four years in university there. The friendly people, the different locales and the amazing seafood. What is there not to like?

This week took my appreciation for those places and people to the next level. I did a talk on running to a great group at GO! Health & Fitness on Saturday and then had my first sold out workshop in Halifax on Sunday afternoon at Kinesio Sport Lab.

After almost three years of working hard, it finally came together. This has been a work in progress. As I was running through Point Pleasant Park (one of my favourite places to visit), the memories came back from teaching a very (very) small workshop there two year ago.

Perseverance really works. I couldn’t have done this with the help of some special people. People like Scott Brown, Luke MacDonald, Wendy Chappell,  Brian Davis and many others really helped me. Thank you!

The great thing is that the feeling seems to be mutual. I get more feedback from my workshops from people out East than anywhere else. And people spread the good word of ChiRunning like it’s going out of business.

I was talking to one of the participants of my talk and she mentioned the lovely pace of small town Nova Scotia. I couldn’t agree more. Now I’m going to work on seeing if I can do more work in the area so I soak it all in more often. And get my fill of fresh seafood as well.

This weekend was one of the most glorious moments of my ChiRunning teaching career. I’m working hard so I can do it again and again.

Thank you Nova Scotia!

Now I’m pretty excited to do the same thing with the Toronto area. I’ve only been there a few times but I’m hoping my next workshop there later this month will be the tipping point. Tell all your GTA friends!
