My #31in31 recap for January 2018!

It’s been a good month for physical activity. Scratch that, it’s been a great month!

I did close to 35 “sessions” of more than 30 minutes with very good variety. I did a bunch of days with two sessions, even one with 3! The main activities were running, snowshoeing and hockey, as I usually do most in January.

It’s been a lot less running (probably 10 runs or so) then the other #31in31 challenges but I got a lot of other stuff in. I feel great especially since I went full keto all month. No sugar, no refined carbs and no alcohol!

I also doubled down on mobility work, in the hot tub and steam room at the gym, and in my den. I also did a lot of mental work, mostly meditation and some healings. And read some great books such as Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach and Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari.

It helped that I had a bit more time to get this done, especially earlier in the month. I also prioritized sleep all month, averaging more close to 7.5 hours of sleep per night for the month.

This was the month of “Eric” it seems as I did a bit of a reset in some areas of my life. As always, I find some physical activity always helps regulate the mood, especially when it’s done in fresh air.

I’m gonna try to keep it intact as much as I can for the month of February but I know the no alcohol thing will be out the window for the Super Bowl next weekend at the very least!

Here are some of the activities I did this month:

  • Playing hockey
  • Snowshoeing
  • Running
  • Walking
  • Weights
  • Swimming
  • Fat biking
  • Yoga
  • Skating
  • Sledding
  • Rowing
  • Golf
  • Cold/hot exposure

My #31in31 challenge didn’t catch on as much as usual but I’m to blame. I started almost a week late due to a social media fast and then didn’t promote it much. Oh well, you can’t win them all!

What did you get up to in January?
