It’s all coming along!

I’ve just had my best week of training in recent memory. It’s funny what a bit of focus and some hard work will do!

Like I was mentioning on Facebook and Twitter, this is the lightest I’ve been since my last Ironman in 2008.

It actually feels great. I feel like I have more energy and an extra wiggle in step. And I’m not even in love! I had some help from BodyByVi but I also needed to put in the work…

Last weekend I went for a great solo ride on Saturday and then did the Lab Fitness run on Sunday. Same thing happened this weekend. It’s nice to do a bit of both to get some balance while training. I don’t want to be totally anti-social.

This Saturday I also got to do some yoga on the Hill with 500 of some of my closest friends. It’s always such a nice compliment to the rest of my activities.

I find what set this last week apart was doing stuff I don’t usually do. I did a track workout on Tuesday at Terry Fox and it was nice to push on the run. I still made a conscious effort to keep my ChiRunning form. And it felt great, well after the 400m and 1000m repeats were done!

I also did a few short bursts of speeds on my bike on Wed and pushed a bit at the swim on Thu morning to test the shoulder. All good!

I took Mon and Fri (well I might have played some golfy golf) off. And that felt good as well.

I guess it’s a parallel story with the rest of my professional life these days. Coincidence? I think not but stay tuned for all the juicy details!
