For this blog post, we partnered with Pamela and our friends at terra20 to provide you some information on their products for active folks and for an awesome contest for Ottawa-area residents:

Athletes are especially conscious of what fuels our bodies, the air we breathe, and of course, carving out enough time for training!

At terra20, we believe those are important priorities too, so we’ve tried to make it easy to find the healthiest, most sustainable products under one roof.  Enjoy the convenience of the big box format, but which has exclusively healthier, carefully sourced alternatives, and is locally owned.

Non-toxic household cleaners, healthy beauty and personal care, eco-friendly fitness apparel, and innovative litterless lunch solutions are just some of what’s in store.

Here are a few products that might pique your interest, and keep reading for a cool giveaway!

Sunscreen

This SPF45 product by Alba is free of terra20’s baseline banned ingredients, allowing you to protect your skin from sun and chemicals.

Off-the trail

Don’t leave home without the Eton Roadside Beacon and Emergency Flashlight for your wilderness adventures. It’s self-powered with an aluminum dynamo hand crank with 15 minutes of flashlight and flashing beacon power.

Yoga

If yoga’s part of your fitness regimen, this eco-friendly yoga mat is a great option.  The material is TPE (Thermal Plastic Elastomer), which is decomposable, recyclable, and hypoallergenic.

Hair care

Triathletes, has the pool got your hair a bit crunchy?  Check out this rescue defrizzer by John Masters Organics, which offers a blend of 100% certified-organic plant and essential oils chosen for their protective and restorative properties.

Laundry

We’ve been told that terra20’s ecobar liquid laundry detergent is perfect for technical apparel. Conventional detergents contain chemicals that block the holes in technical gear that let moisture escape. ecobar detergent is free of harmful chemicals.

Get in the zone

You may not think of sound gear as “eco-friendly,” but House of Marley turns that notion on its head.  The Smile Jamaica in-ear headphones are designed and built with FSC certified sapele and beech wood and recyclable aluminum.

 Time to win

We’d like to give one ECinc reader a House of Marley prize pack, valued at $350!  It includes in-ear headphones, over ear headphones, and a Chant portable sound system (see picture above).
